*Pourthiaea Decaisne. Subfamily: Amygdaloideae. Tribe: Maleae. Subtribe: Malinae. Common name: Photinia.
A genus of about 25 species, shrubs, of e. Asia. Guo et al. (2011), Lo & Donoghue (2012), and Liu et al. (2023) showed clearly that Pourthiaea should be separated at generic rank from both Photinia and Aronia. Liu et al. (2023) divided Pourthiaea into three sections, with our single, introduced species in section Pourthiaea; we follow Liu et al. (2023) in their recognition of Pourthiaea as separate from Aronia and Photinia, and in their infrageneric taxonomy.
