Euphorbiaceae
Sapium
*Sapium Jacquin. Common name: Milktree.
A genus of about 25 species, trees and shrubs, of the Neotropics. The most recent monographers of Sapium and related genera (Kruijt 1996; Esser 2002) separate Triadica from Sapium sensu stricto. This conclusion is corroborated by molecular phylogenetic analysis (Wurdack, Hoffmann, & Chase 2005).
