Vernonia ovalifolia Torrey & A. Gray. Common name: Oval-leaf Ironweed. Habitat: Rich woods, stream banks. Distribution: Sw. GA south to Panhandle FL and c. peninsular FL. Naturalizing in coastal SC from horticultural plantings (D.C. Payne, pers. comm., 2017).
