Suriana Linnaeus. Common name: Bay-cedar.
A monotypic genus, a shrub or small tree, of s. FL, West Indies, and Caribbean shores of Mexico, Central America, and n. South America; also widespread (though scattered) in the Paleotropics (Polynesia, Micronesia, Melanesia, Philippines, New Guinea, Australia, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Madagascar, e. Africa).
