*Knautia arvensis (Linnaeus) J.M. Coulter. Common name: Blue Buttons, 'Scabiosa', Field Scabious, Bluecaps. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Dry areas, pastures, other disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Europe. Naturalized south at least to s. PA (Rhoads & Klein 1993) and WV (Harmon, Ford-Werntz, & Grafton 2006).

Origin/Endemic status: Europe
