*Diospyros kaki Thunberg. Common name: Kaki, Kaki-plum, Japanese Persimmon. Phenology: May-Jun; Sep-Oct. Habitat: Planted, may be persistent. Uncommonly grown in our area for its fruits, which are much larger than D. virginiana (to 9 cm in diameter). Distribution: Native of e. Asia.
