Vachellia constricta (Bentham) Seigler & Ebinger. Common name: Mescat Acacia. Phenology: Apr-Oct. Habitat: Arid scrub; eastwards as a waif on chrome ore piles. Distribution: S. TX, w. TX, NM, and AZ south into Mexico (many states).

Taxonomy Comments: Ebinger & Seigler (2023b) rejected the recognition of "var. paucispina".
