Deeringothamnus Small. Common name: Dwarf Pawpaw, Deering's Pawpaw, Squirrel-banana.
A genus of 2 species, dwarf shrubs, of peninsular Florida. Quite possibly to be merged into Asimina, but available phylogenetic evidence is not clear (Mercer et al. 2015). Wilbur (1970a) included Deeringothamnus within Asimina, at sectional rank.
Subfamily: Annonoideae. Tribe: Annoneae. Subtribe: Annoninae.References: Kessler (1993a) In Kubitzki, Rohwer, & Bittrich (1993); Kral (1997) In Flora of North America Editorial Committee (1997); Mercer et al. (2015); Ward (2001); Wilbur (1970a). Show full citations.
