not marked as a favorite taxon Oxypolis ternata (Nuttall) A. Heller. Common name: Savanna Cowbane. Phenology: Sep-Oct; Oct-Nov. Habitat: Wet pine savannas, sandhill seepages. Distribution: Scattered from se. Virginia south to Panhandle Florida; alleged occurrences in e. Texas are based on misidentifications of narrow-leafleted forms of O. rigidior (Sorrie et al. 2003)

ID notes: A plant so wispy that it is almost not even there! Unmistakable based on its few trifoliolate leaves with linear leaflets (slightly broadened pat the midpoint of the leaflet, so "oblinear").

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Edmondson’s (2005) change of the name to O. denticulata is incorrect; the type of O. denticulata is unquestionably O. rigidior (Feist 2009).
