Oxypolis ternata (Nuttall) A. Heller. Common name: Savanna Cowbane. Phenology: Sep-Oct; Oct-Nov. Habitat: Wet pine savannas, sandhill seepages. Distribution: Scattered from se. VA south to Panhandle FL; alleged occurrences in e. TX are based on misidentifications of narrow-leafleted forms of O. rigidior (Sorrie et al. 2003)

Taxonomy Comments: Edmondson’s (2005) change of the name to O. denticulata is incorrect; the type of O. denticulata is unquestionably O. rigidior (Feist 2009).
