Marshallia

Marshallia pulchra W.M. Knapp, D.B. Poindexter, & Weakley. Common name: Beautiful Barbara’s-buttons, Monongahela Barbara’s-buttons, Beautiful Marshallia. Phenology: Jun-Aug. Habitat: High energy river scour and/or ice scour on sandy or rocky riverbanks and cobblebars. Distribution: Sw. PA south to sw. NC, e. TN (Cumberland Plateau) (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997), and se. KY; notably on the Big South Fork, Casselman, Cumberland, Obed, Tygart, and Youghiogheny.
