Spermolepis divaricata (Walter) Rafinesque ex Seringe. Common name: Southern Spermolepis, Roughfruit Spermolepis. Phenology: Apr-May; May-Jun. Habitat: Sandy roadsides, disturbed areas. Distribution: VA south to s. FL, west to e. TX and COA. Endemic to our region, though weedy in behavior, and perhaps introduced only in VA.
