Spermolepis echinata (Nuttall ex A.P. de Candolle) A. Heller. Common name: Bristlefruit Spermolepis, Hooked Spermolepis. Phenology: Apr; May. Habitat: Sandy prairies, sandy roadsides and disturbed areas. Distribution: IL and s. KS south to Mexico (BCN, COA, SON, TAM); more eastern parts of the distribution are of uncertain nativity.
