*Vallisneria denseserrulata × spiralis (Makino) Makino. Hab: Aquatic. Dist: Known from coastal and inland FL and inland AL, but likely to be much more widespread.

Origin/Endemic status: Garden origin

Taxonomy Comments: This entity appears to be a hybrid of two Old World species -- Vallisneria denseserrulata (Makino) Makino and Vallisneria spiralis Linnaeus which apparently hybridized in the aquatic plant industry and have spread deliberately or accidentally in aquatic restoration projects.
