Glossary (beta!)

Section: Trichostema.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: This species is cryptic with Trichostema suffrutescens, but the two species appear to be allopatric. The geographic split between these two species is currently unknown due to extensive habitat loss and restricted sampling in the genetic analysis, but the split is likely between the Lake Wales and Mt. Dora Ridges or somewhere on the northern Lake Wales Ridge, a split present in several other organisms.

Synonymy : = McClelland, Weakley, & Poindexter (2023); < Trichostema dichotomum L. — WH3; < Trichostema suffrutescens Kearney — K4, S, Lewis (1945), McClelland & Weakley (2019) in Weakley et al (2019a). Basionym: Trichostema bridgesii-orzellii K.S.McClell. 2023
