Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: This taxon needs additional study; it is sometimes regarded as a hybrid of P. polystachios × P. sinuatus. Abbott & Judd (2000) regarded the 100% germination rate of its seeds as evidence supporting specific status. Debouck (2021) and Delgado (2023e) accepted it at species rank.
