not marked as a favorite taxon Phyllanthus niruri Linnaeus. Common name: Gale-of-the-wind. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Sandy riverbanks and streambanks. Distribution: Se. Texas; Mexico to Central America. Older reports of Phyllanthus niruri from North Carolina and South Carolina (Ahles, Bell, & Radford 1958) have proved to be Moeroris tenella (= Phyllanthus tenellus) (Webster 1970).
