Phyllanthus niruri Linnaeus. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Sandy riverbanks and streambanks. Distribution: Se. Texas; Mexico to Central America. Reports of P. niruri Linnaeus from NC and SC (Ahles, Bell, & Radford 1958) have proved to be P. tenellus (Webster 1970).

Origin/Endemic status: Native
