Deeringothamnus rugelii (B.L. Robinson) Small. Common name: Yellow Squirrel-banana, Rugel’s Pawpaw. Habitat: Wet pine flatwoods. Distribution: Endemic to Volusia County, FL.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: This species apparently forms sterile hybrids with Asimina pygmaea.

Synonymy : = FNA3, K4, NS, S; = Asimina rugelii B.L.Rob. — POWO, S13, Wilbur (1970a); = Deeringothamnus rugelii (B.L.Rob.) Small var. rugelii — Fl2, WH3. Basionym: Asimina rugelii B.L.Rob. 1897
