Symphyotrichum parviceps (Burgess) Nesom. Common name: Small-headed Aster. Phenology: Aug-Nov. Habitat: Upland prairies, woodlands, dry areas. Distribution: IL and IA south to MO, KS, and ne. OK (reported but not verified for AR).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Synonymy : = FNA20, Il, K4, Mo2; = Aster parviceps (Burgess) Mack. & Bush — C, F, G, GrPl. Basionym: Aster ericoides L. var. parviceps E.S.Burgess 1898
