Triosteum aurantiacum E.P. Bicknell var. illinoense (Wiegand) E.J. Palmer & Steyermark. Common name: Illinois Horse-gentian. Phenology: May-Jul; Aug-Oct. Habitat: Woodlands and forests in circumneutral soils, particularly those over mafic or calcareous rocks. Distribution: PA west to w. IA and se. NE, south to WV, c. KY, AR, and e. OK.
