Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Bergamo (2003) placed Callisia micrantha in section Brachyphylla, which she recommended be given genus rank (based on the phylogenetic tree, and its placement as sister to Cuthbertia, also treated at generic rank). New combinations have not been made, however.
