Euphorbia trichotoma Kunth. Subgenus: Esula. Section: Paralias. Common name: Sand-dune Spurge. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Dunes, beaches. Distribution: C. and s. peninsular FL (coastal only); West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba, Cayman Islands); Mexico (COL, ROO).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Other Comments: Since 1988, only a single collection has been made of this plant (Burch 2656, USF in 2007). It is not a plant likely to go overlooked by the keen botanical eye considering the uniquely similar length of leaves, dichasial and pleiochasial bracts. It should be sought in coastal areas of south FL.
