2024 has been a banner year for making the best flora we can imagine. We've created:

Hypoxis sessilis Linnaeus. Glossy-seed Stargrass. Phen: Apr (-later, especially in response to fire); May (-later, especially in response to fire). Hab: Wet pine savannas, drier pinelands, Silveus dropseed prairies (TX), sand prairies (AR). Dist: NC (?) south to s. FL, west to e. TX, s. AR, and se. OK.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: The potential recognition of H. longii needs additional assessment as its lumping is presumptive; see Weakley, Ludwig, and Townsend (2013) for discussion.
