Silphidium (Torrey & A. Gray) Mesfin & D.J. Crawford.
A monotypic genus, a perennial herb, of the Southern Appalachians. Long known to be an evolutionary outlier in Coreopsis, the species formerly known as Coreopsis latifolia was placed in a monotypic genus by Tadesse & Crawford (2023). Phylogenetic studies suggest that Anacis and Silphidium are more closely related to parts of Bidens than to Coreopsis s.s. (Tadesse & Crawford 2023).
