ID notes: Superficially similar to Potentilla indica, but differing in the achenes rugose-papillate, dull when fresh, paler receptacle, smaller flowers and leaves (see key).

Origin/Endemic status: E., se., and s. Asia

Taxonomy Comments: This taxon warrants recognition at specific rank, based on different chromosome number, karyomorphology, achene characters, flower characters, rhizome characters, leaf characters, etc. (see Yonekura, Ohashi, & Ohashi 2008).

Synonymy : = POWO, Faghir, Pourebrahim, & Shahi Shavvon (2022), Yonekura, Ohashi, & Ohashi (2008); = Duchesnea chrysantha (Zollinger & Moritzi) Miquel — FNA9, not treated formally; = Fragaria chrysantha Zoll. & Moritzi; = n/a — NS; = Potentilla indica var. wallichii Franch. & Sav.; < Potentilla indica (Andrews) Th.Wolf, widely overlooked or considered within the concept of P. indica.
