ID notes: Superficially similar to Potentilla indica, but differing in the achene rugose-papillate, dull when fresh, paler receptacle, smaller flowers and leaves (see key).

Taxonomy Comments: This taxon warrants recognition at specific rank, based on different chromosome number, karyomorphology, achene characters, flower characters, rhizome characters, leaf characters, etc. (see Yonekura, Ohashi, & Ohashi 2008).
