Bartonia paniculata (Michaux) Muhlenberg ssp. iodandra (B.L. Robinson) J.M. Gillett. Common name: Purple Screwstem. Phenology: Aug-Sep; Sep-Oct. Habitat: Wet, peaty hollows, sphagnous bogs, peaty turf, and damp lake shores in sandy soil. Distribution: Newfoundland south to Long Island, NY, and perhaps NJ.
