Hamamelis vernalis Sargent. Common name: Ozark Witch-hazel, Vernal Witch-hazel. Phenology: Dec-Apr. Habitat: Stream banks, open riparian forests, gravel bars, river scour; also lower slopes adjacent to these habitats. Distribution: C. MO and e. OK south to AR.
