Salvia occidentalis Swartz. Common name: West Indian Sage. Phenology: May-Sep. Habitat: Dry disturbed areas. Distribution: C. and s. peninsular FL; West Indies; Mexico, Central America, and South America.

Other Comments: The Orange County, FL specimen (Baltzell 779) appears to be missing flowers. The leaves; however, appear correct for this species (S. Ward, pers. obs.). Otherwise this species is restricted to s. FL.
