Pisonia rotundata Grisebach ssp. rotundata . Common name: Smooth Devil’s-claw. Habitat: Rockland hammocks, pine rocklands. Distribution: S. peninsular FL; West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola)

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: A second subspecies, ssp. acutiuscula (Heimerl) M.A. Díaz & Esquivel, is endemic to Cuba.

Synonymy : = WI; < Pisonia rotundata Griseb. — Bah, Fl5, FNA4, K4, S, S13, SFla, WH3, Bogle (1974). Basionym: Pisonia rotundata Griseb. 1866
