Vanilla phaeantha Reichenbach f.. Common name: Leafy Vanilla, Oblong-leaved Vanilla. Phenology: Jun-Jul. Habitat: Swamps, strands, slough margin. Distribution: S. FL; West Indies; Central America to South America.
ID notes: Vine stems can often be observed zig-zagging up Taxodium trunk in strands.
