Exothea paniculata (A.L. de Jussieu) Radlkofer. Common name: Inkwood, Butterbough, Ironwood. Phenology: Jan-Apr; Mar-Jun. Habitat: Maritime hammocks, rockland hammocks, mesic hammocks, pine rocklands, coastal berms, shell mounds. Distribution: FL peninsula (Volusia County on the east coast and Collier County on the west coast southwards); West Indies; ne. Mexico southwards (CAM, CHP, COL, GTO, HGO, JAL, MIC, OAX, QRO, SLP, ROO, TAM, VER), Central America.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Synonymy : = Bah, Fl4, FNA13, K4, Mex, S, S13, WH3, Brizicky (1963); Melicoccus paniculata Antoine Laurent de Jussieu. Basionym: Melicoccus paniculata Juss. 1817
