Phaulothamnus spinescens A. Gray. Common name: Snake-eyes, Devilqueen, Ojo de Vibora, Putia. Phenology: Aug-Sep. Habitat: Clayey soils in scrub. Distribution: S. TX south to Mexico (BCN, BCS, CHI, COA,NAY, NLE, PUE, SIN, SON, TAM).
ID notes: The drupe is transparent/translucent with a single black (endosperm+) seed.
