not marked as a favorite taxon *Achyranthes aspera Linnaeus var. pubescens (Moquin-Tandon) C.C. Townsend. Common name: Devil's-horsewhip. Habitat: Disturbed uplands, hammocks. Distribution: Native of w. Africa. Reported for MD and s. FL (FNA, Kartesz 1999), the MD report dropped in Kartesz (2010).
