Celosia nitida Vahl. Common name: Slender Celosia, West Indian Cockscomb, Albahaca. Phenology: (Jan-) May-Aug (-Dec). Habitat: Hammocks, thickets, brush, and forests in sandy soils. Distribution: Peninsular FL; se. TX and s. TX south through Mexico, Central America, and South America; West Indies.
