Araliaceae A.L. de Jussieu. Common name: Ginseng Family.
A family of about 40-47 genera and about 1900 species, trees, shrubs, vines, and rarely herbs, mainly tropical in distribution (Plunkett et al. 2018b). Hydrocotyle is more closely related to Araliaceae than to Apiaceae, and is transferred here (Nicolas & Plunkett 2009; Chandler & Plunkett 2003).
