Chromolaena A.P. de Candolle.
A genus of about 165 species, perennial herbs and shrubs, of s. North America, Central America, and South America.
ID notes: Similar in general appearance to other Eupatorioid perennials and suffrutescent shrubs (such as Tamaulipa azurea, Koanophyllon villosum, and Ageratina havanensis) in their often well-petioled, triangular leaves, and pink, blue, to purple discoid heads. Chromolaena differs especially in its deciduous phyllaries, that are broader and and the inner petaloid.
