*Cakile maritima Scopoli ssp. maritima. Common name: European Sea-rocket. Habitat: Beaches, at or near the wrack line. Distribution: Native of Europe. The NC location was on ballast at Wilmington, and is apparently not persistent; locations in VA and northwards are well-established.

Taxonomy Comments: The other subspecies are also European but are apparently not introduced in our area.
