Intro: Trailing or climbing herbaceous perennial vine of fields, roadsides and other disturbed areas. Native of Europe.

Stems: Stems freely branched, often forming tangled mats, short-hairy or nearly smooth.

Leaves: Leaves alternate, long-petiolate, often narrowly arrowhead-shaped (shape may vary), 1-2 in. long.

Inforescence:

Flowers: Flowers 1-3 on slender stalks from leaf axils, white or tinged with pink and with a yellowish throat, to 1 in. wide, consisting of a bell-shaped corolla, 5 small sepals, 5 stamens and a pair of small bracts up to 1 in. long below the flower.

Fruits: Fruit an oval, 2-celled capsule.
