Carex digitalis Willdenow var. macropoda Fernald. Common name: Long-spiked Slender Woodland Sedge. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Moist to dry forests. Distribution: PA and IL south to FL and TX.

Taxonomy Comments: Naczi (1999b) reported a chromosome number of n = 24. Perhaps warranting species rank (C. Bryson, pers. comm., 2019).
