Carex mesochorea Mackenzie. Common name: Midland Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Mesic to dry forests and woodlands, dry grassy areas. Distribution: MA, ON, and NE south to GA, AL, and TX. First reported for South Carolina by Hill & Horn (1997).
