Carex crawei Dewey. Common name: Crawe's Sedge. Phenology: Apr-May. Habitat: Calcareous barrens and prairies, usually in gravelly areas with ephemeral or periodic seepage. Distribution: QC west to BC, south to NJ, w. VA, c. TN, AL, AR, OK, CO, and AZ. First reported for VA by Ludwig (1999).

Taxonomy Comments: Naczi (1999b) reported a chromosome number of n = 30.
