Leaves: Leaves alternate, petiolate, 4-12 in long, finely divided into many narrow segments (fern-like), bluish-green.

Flowers: Flowers dangling from a leafless stalk arched above the foliage; white; to ¾ in. long; bilaterally symmetric; tubular, with 2 upward projecting, rounded spurs--suggesting a heart-shape--and 2 small, spreading corolla lips at the bottom of the "heart"; fragrant.
Fruits: Fruit a green, narrowly oval, beaked capsule.
Comments: Plants arise from small, round, yellow tubers that resemble corn kernels.
