*Hydrangea macrophylla (Thunberg) Seringe. Subgenus: Dichroa. Section: Macrophyllae. Common name: Bigleaf Hydrangea, Mophead Hydrangea, Hortensia, French Hydrangea. Phenology: Jun-Nov. Habitat: Disturbed areas, suburban woodlands. Distribution: Native of Japan. Reported for AR (Serviss et al. 2017).

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia
