not marked as a favorite taxon Scutellaria galericulata Linnaeus. Common name: Hooded Skullcap. Phenology: Jun-Aug. Habitat: Spring-fed seepage, fens, bogs, swamps, freshwater tidal marshes. Distribution: Circumboreal, south in North America to DE, MD, VA, ne. WV, w. NC, IN, MO, n. TX, and CA. The NC occurrence is based on old collections from 1937 and before. Reported recently from MD (Steury, Tyndall, & Cooley 1996).
