*Gossypium barbadense Linnaeus. Common name: Sea-island Cotton, Egyptian Cotton, Pima Cotton, Extra-long-staple Cotton. Habitat: Historically cultivated, presumably no longer present in our area. Distribution: Native of South America, Central America, and the West Indies.
Origin/Endemic status: South America
