Boerhavia erecta Linnaeus. Common name: Erect Spiderling, Smooth Hogweed. Phenology: May-Oct. Habitat: Sandy fields, roadsides, disturbed areas, railroad yards. Distribution: NC south to FL, west to TX and AZ, likely only introduced in the northern portions of our area (see map).
