Guapira obtusata (Jacquin) Little ssp. obtusata. Common name: Broadleaf Blolly, Corcho Prieto. Phenology: May-Feb. Habitat: Tropical hammocks. Distribution: S. peninsular FL (the Keys only); West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Puerto Rico).
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: An additional subspecies, ssp. brachycarpa (Heimerl) M.A. Díaz, is endemic to Cuba (Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong 2012).
