Okenia hypogaea Schlechtendal & Chamisso. Common name: Beach-peanut, Burrowing Four-o’clock, Dune-groundnut, Okenia. Phenology: Mar-Nov (-Feb). Habitat: Ocean beaches, Florida scrub. Distribution: Peninsular FL (coastal St. Lucie, Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties, and slightly inland); Mexico, and Central America (Nicaragua).
