*Pentodon pentandrus Vatke. Common name: Pentodon. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Pond edges, drawdowns, sloughs, wet meadows, moist ground. Distribution: Apparently native of sub-Saharan Africa, now distributed in e. SC south to s. FL, west to se. TX; West Indies.
