Spermacoce keyensis Small. Common name: Florida Buttonweed. Phenology: Mar-Aug. Habitat: Pinelands. Distribution: S. FL; West Indies. Reported for s. TX (Correll & Johnston 1970).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Both S. floridana and S. keyensis were published in 1913; S. keyensis apparently on 11 August and S. floridana on 15 August.

Synonymy : = Fl5, K4, WH3, Florentin, Florentin, & Salas (2020); = Spermacoce floridana Urb. – Bah, K3, Tx; = Spermacoce tenuior L. var. floridana (Urb.) R.W.Long; >< Spermacoce confusa Rendle – Ward (2011b), misapplied
