Sparganium fluctuans (Engelmann ex Morong) B.L. Robinson. Common name: Floating Bur-reed. Phenology: Jul-Aug. Habitat: Lake margins, streams, shores. Distribution: NL west to BC, south to n. NJ, PA, MI, WI, MN, SK, AB, and WA.

ID notes: "Vegetative plants may be confused with S. angustifolium: the leaf width in S. fluctuans ranges from 3-11 mm , but is generally wider than 5 mm, whereas that of S. angustifolium ranges from 1.5-5 mm, but is typically less than 5 mm wide (Crow & Hellquist 2023).
